Naturopathic medicine is a system of medicine that emphasizes health maintenance over disease management and blends centuries-old natural, nontoxic therapies with advances in science and cutting edge research to cover all aspects of health. Prevention, education and trust in the bodies ability to heal are cornerstones to the practice. Naturopathy differs from conventional medicine in the diversity of therapies offered, but the most important distinction is in philosophy. As a naturopathic doctor (ND), I seek to remove the cause of illness rather than merely eliminate or suppress symptoms. I believe in treating the whole person, not just the physical aspects of disease and trust that the body has an innate ability to heal itself if given the opportunity.
My practice is primarily focused on on endocrine imbalances and immune dysfunction including allergies and autoimmune issues. I frequently work with my patients to address a myriad of concerns including:
PMS / Dysmenorrhea
Sexual dysfunction (for men and women)
Depression and anxiety
Food allergies and intolerances
Additionally, I use platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections for cosmetic purposes as well as to treat several medical conditions. PRP is blood plasma that is processed to concentrate the platelets (a type of blood cell) and the bioactive growth factors associated with them. PRP is widely used in orthopedic medicine to stimulate tissue healing of bone, tendon, ligament and cartilage, however PRP initiates the growth and regeneration of tissue wherever it is injected. For this reason, it has also become widely used in cosmetic applications including treatment for hair regeneration, regeneration of collagen and connective tissue in the face, neck and chest and most recently as a treatment for female sexual dysfunction and urinary incontinence by increasing growth and regeneration of tissue in the vaginal and peri-urethral tissue.
